HVAC Energy Incentive Tax Credit

On February 17, 2009, President Obama signed a stimulus bill that included an HVAC tax credit incentives. Congress set the maximum tax credit amount at $1500 to help stimulate energy conservation through the installation of high efficiency cooling and heating systems. Purchasers of highly efficient heating and cooling equipment can take tax credits of up to $1,500 for purchasing qualified equipment. These credits are available for systems placed in service from January 1, 2009, through December 31, 2010. To apply for the Tax Credit, customers must file the appropriate IRS form with your taxes, including receipts verifying purchase of the qualifying equipment and a copy of Manufacturer's certification.

Energy Incentive Highlights:

• The tax credits that were previously effective for 2009 have been extended to 2010
• The tax credit has been raised from 10% to 30%
• The maximum credit has been raised from $500 to $1500 for the two years (2009 - 2010)
• Energy Efficient Products must be "placed in service" from January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2010 and must be for taxpayers principal residence.

• Central Split A/C System - 16 SEER / 13 EER
• Split Heat Pump - 15 SEER / 12.5 EER / 8.5 HSPF
• Package Unit A/C - 14 SEER / 12 EER
• Package Heat Pump - 14 SEER / 12 EER / 8 HSPF
