Does the indoor fan come on at all?
Part I: Yes: Then the problem is probably outside.
-
Check the breaker in the panel box, (the one for the outside
unit). If it is not tripped you should call us right away. If it is tripped,
reset it. If it runs properly, and you have cool air, congratulations!
You have fixed the problem yourself. However, if it trips again, we will
need to set up a service call.
Part II: NO: Then the problem is probably inside.
-
Check the thermostat, is it on? If so, check the doors of
the furnace or air handler inside.
-
Are the doors all secure? If not, replace the doors securely.
Did the fan come on? If the doors are all secure, and the fan is still
not on, check the the switch on the wall that kills power to the furnace.
-
Is the switch turned on? If not, turn it on. Did the fan
come on? If it is on, and the fan still did not come on, check the electrical
panel.

Is the breaker tripped? If so, then reset the breaker. Does
it trip again, if so we need to come out. If it did not trip again, does
the fan come on? If the fan does not come on, we need to set up a service
call. If the fan did come on, do you have cool air? If so, congratulations!
You fixed it yourself. If you do not have cool air after a couple of minutes,
look at the outside unit. Is it running? If the outside unit is running,
and you still don't have cool air, we need to come out. If the outside
unit is not running, see part one of this section.
